Find two days of live performances, music, and family activities. On Saturday, enjoy musician Will Walker from 1:30 -3:00 p.m., followed by funk/reggae band Hanzolo. On Sunday, see line dancing demonstrations, as well as music from Gravelyard from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Each day in the Festival Tent, find children’s craft activities plus outdoor games. The museum’s Templeton Players perform A Case For Eviction on Saturday and the one-act farce Box and Cox on Sunday, guaranteed to captivate audiences of all ages (12:00 p.m. both days).
Animals always take the spotlight at Harvest Festival. Take a ride through the museum’s grounds in a horse-drawn wagon. Watch a parade of prize-winning animals from the museum’s annual Junior Livestock Show. Hinman Hollow Sport Dogs will dazzle you with their agility and obedience demonstrations. Kids enjoy the Children’s Barnyard and cuddly alpacas from various regional farms.
If you like historical trades, you won’t be disappointed at Harvest Festival. Many artisans show off their skills, such as traditional cooper Bob Allers. Get hands-on with rope making, and see spinning and fiber art demonstrations. You’ll also find tinsmiths, quilters, bakers, and potters.
